It is our aim to share the joy of cycling with as many people as possible. Our motivation for doing this is based on a few simple values shared by all of us in Pedal Ready.
Enjoyment
Whether you’re gliding along a peaceful cycle path or zipping down a hill with the wind in your hair, there’s no denying that travelling by bike can give us some much-needed fun.
We know from experience that riding a bike can be the most enjoyable way to get around, and if there’s one thing that unites all of the people we work with it’s that every single one of them rides a bike because they enjoy it.
Helping people to realise the pure happiness of cycling is what gets us out of bed in the morning.
Health
We firmly believe that cycling is one of the most valuable forms of exercise around. It is cheap, exciting, and allows you the convenience of getting your blood pumping at the same time as travelling to where you need to be.
We’re all aware of how our society minimises the amount of exercise we get, and at Pedal Ready we feel that spreading the use of bikes is a positive way to inject a bit of movement into our lives.
Accessibility
One of the best things about cycling is that anyone can enjoy it, regardless of age, gender, background, fitness level, or anything else.
We believe that everyone deserves to have the opportunity to cycle, so we work in as many different communities as possible to make sure everyone gets a chance.
Sustainability
In our energy-hungry society riding a bike stands head and shoulders above all other means of transport as the low-impact option. Simply put, cycling is one of the most environmentally sustainable ways to travel.
So we promote the use of bikes as a socially responsible way to get around, helping to create cleaner, quieter and safer communities as a result.
Co-operation
Pedal Ready is a co-operative.
This means that unlike most other companies we manage ourselves collectively, drawing on the skills of all of our members and making decisions together about the way we work.
We uphold the seven international co-operative principles and value working in an environment where each of us shares responsibility for the work we do.
