Who are we?
Pedal Ready is a co-operative of Bikeability approved cycle instructors who deliver cycling skills training to schools, universities, companies, communities and individuals on a one-to-one or group basis.
Our Mission?
Pedal Ready trains children, young people and adults to cycle more safely, more often. Promoting cycling as a sustainable, economical, co-operative and enjoyable form of urban transport we believe the future is human powered.
How can we get more people cycling?
The Bikeability ethos of “more cycle journeys, by more people, more often” is close to our hearts and we aim to achieve this in a variety of ways.
We deliver cycling courses to thousands of school children throughout the South Yorkshire area and work closely with local councils and LEAs to ensure our trainees receive the most positive experience possible.
Is it just for schools?
No! In conjunction with Sheffield City Council and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council we are training hundreds of individuals and families through sponsored one-to-one, group and family training sessions.
We work with companies and universities providing cycle training opportunities for employees and students and promotional events such as our popular “Dr Bike” bike check service.
We believe in communities working together.
We are active in the community providing opportunities to cycle for individuals and local groups. We work with Primary Care Trusts through the Cycle for Health scheme.
We are building links with dozens of partner organisations including the CTC, the NHS, Sustrans, Recycle Bikes, local area panels and assemblies, local authority parks, countryside, transport and road safety departments and employers such as Plusnet, HSBC, the Department for Children, Schools and Families, Arup, Meadowhall and the Home Office.
As a co-operative we believe in community at work as well. Over the past seven years Pedal Ready has grown into a thriving co-operative of over 40 members supported by our dedicated administrative staff – looking after the needs of clients, trainees and trainers.
