The Tschus! cycling coat

Lycra isn't for everybody, and as more people take to two wheels, cycling fashion is taking off in the UK.

Transport for London has launched its own 'bspoke' fashion range, but of course in Sheffield we can always do these things rather better.

Heather Knott of the Nightingale and Metcalfe design company has recently developed the 'Tschus!' coat for women, using wool and silk along with more technical waterproofing.

"It’s goodbye to high viz and Velcro and hello to the first ready-to-wear lady’s cycling mac, " says Campagnolo enthusiast Heather, adding that the design takes its inspiration from traditional English tailoring and cycling through East Berlin.

"If we make cycle clothing both technical & stylish, will more women want to ride their bikes?" asks Heather.
