An adult receiving some cycling tips

Pedal Ready trains National Standards cycle instructors to deliver Bikeability, the updated version of Cycle Proficiency focussed on people wanting to learn to cycle safely and competently on Britain’s roads.

Bikeability comes in three levels.

  • Level 1 is all about control of your bike in a traffic free environment.
  • Level 2 trains you to cycle safely on quiet roads
  • Level 3 is about cycling in all traffic conditions.

There are three types of instructor: a National Standard Assistant Instructor (NSAI), a National Standard Instructor (NSI) and a National Standard Instructor Trainer (NSIT).   The most commonly sought qualification is that of NSI.

See Instructor Training for more details.
